Tony van der Hiele
Tony van der Hiele is researcher at the research group Aquaculture in Delta areas at HZ University of Applied Sciences. She has a BSc diploma in Aquatic Eco-technology and a MSc in Environmental Sciences & Natural Resources. She has been working at the HZ University of Applied Sciences since 2007 and her work is mainly focused on projects and applied research related to shellfish ecology and shellfish farming. Her present work focuses on spatial patterns and seasonal dynamics of food quantity and quality for shellfish, spatial variation of oyster spat settlement and the challenges of restoring native oysters in offshore wind farms. She also coordinates and teaches the 4th year elective BSc Water Management course 'Introduction to aquaculture'.
