Minor (repair) possibilities

Besides offering a full minor (2x15 ECTS) or a half minor (15 ECTS) it is also possible to obtain a smaller amount of credits of 6 ECTS or 10,5 ECTS in the Garage. It could be the case that a prior minor was not completed due to various reasons. In the Garage, students can join running projects and make up for the credits they miss. The amount of credits and the period to do so is to be approved by the study program (examination board) of the student. We, as the Garage, only provide the opportunities. For this reason, joining the innovation studio to repair missing credits is always in agreement with representatives of the study program (like a study coach, or exam committee member). Do you need 7 ECTS, then you'll choose the package of 10,5 ECTS. In case a student is in need of repairing 23 credits, it is possible to choose for the package of 25,5 credits (15 ECTS+10,5 ECTS). In case a student repairs a previous minor for 15 or 30 ECTS, we perceive the student as doing minor 1 or minor 1 and minor 2 (full minor) student, therewith having the same learning outcomes and assessment instructions.

6 ECTS:

Coursecode: MI00029.1C

In case a student comes for a minor repair 6 credits, we urge and expect a student to stay and distribute them at least over 1 block of 10 weeks. Otherwise, it might be challenging in planning collaboration efforts and balancing it with other study or life happenings. In order to complete the minor, a contribution portfolio needs to be created (see test in Minor 1. b. Co-creation). Make sure your efforts and hence the hours in the logbook matches the amount of ECs you need to repair. Since many of our projects run the entire semester, it is also possible to stretch and work on the projects for more than 10 weeks. Share your planning with your coach and the studio's office manager. Besides the contribution portfolio representing your efforts in repairing a previous minor, you also reflect on the design thinking process. In the same document, add a page before the appendices entitled 'Design thinking reflection'. In one page maximum, you reflect by describing a) the used steps, tools and outputs; b) advantages and disadvantages using (some of the) tools; c) how efforts and output of one tool/step influenced others, and; d) the influence of doing design thinking on the (lack of) progress in the project(s).

10,5 ECTS:

Coursecode: MI00029.1B

In case a student comes for a minor repair 10,5 credits, we urge and expect a student to stay and distribute them at least over 1 block of 10 weeks. Otherwise, it might be challenging in planning collaboration efforts and balancing it with other study or life happenings.
