Hij volgt sinds 2022 een promotietraject aan het ‘Care and Public Health Research Institute’ (CAPHRI) gevestigd binnen de Universiteit van Maastricht. Hierin onderzoekt hij vanuit een sociaalecologische benadering het complexe samenspel van bevorderende-, beschermende- en risico factoren voor de mentale gezondheid van jongvolwassenen. | ||
Daarnaast is hij actief in diverse internationale projecten op het gebied van gezondheidsbevordering. Deze projecten variëren van zorgoptimalisatie en meer autonomie van patiënten (TICC) tot sociale inclusie van kwetsbare doelgroepen door middel van peer-to-peer methodiek (ENSURE). De hiervoor genoemde projecten zijn gebaseerd op pilotstudies om uiteenlopende culturele contexten met elkaar te vergelijken en een optimale implementatie, dat leidt tot duurzame gezondheidsverbetering, mogelijk te maken. | |||
Het coachen en begeleiden van studenten geeft hem veel energie. Hij neemt de meest recente bevindingen uit het onderzoek mee in het onderwijs en laat studenten proeven aan de praktijk middels projectmatig werken voor ‘echte’ opdrachtgevers. | |||
Zijn achtergrond betreft de masteropleiding ‘Health Education and Promotion’ aan de Universiteit van Maastricht. Voorafgaand aan zijn master is hij in 2017 afgestudeerd als Sportkundige aan de HZ University Of Applied Sciences. Hij heeft een grote passie voor sport en heeft ook enkele jaren als (medisch) fitnessinstructeur gewerkt. | |||
