Within the HZ, a broad range of tourism-related research projects is being conducted. The research group Coastal Tourism and the research group Biobased Building are involved in the FACET project. The HZ University of Applied Sciences has a lot of experience in carrying out international and EU funded research and innovation projects. Both research groups will bring their experience and knowledge on European coastal regions and collection and development, valorization and dissemination of Bio Based materials and composites in construction and civil engineering. Students are also involved by doing practice-oriented research. On this page, a description of all partners involved in the FACET project is provided. Each partner will introduce themselves briefly and elucidate on who they are, what the organization/company does, why they are a partner in the FACET project and what this partners goal is during the project.

NV Economisch Impuls Zeeland (the Netherlands)

Impuls Zeeland is the regional development authority in Zeeland that aims at strengthening the regional economy and support economic development in Zeeland. Impuls works closely with local en regional public and private stakeholders to create a future-proof economy in Zeeland. The tourism sector, and the shift from traditional to circular economy in this sector, is naturally part of the program of Impuls Zeeland.

Westtoer (Belgium)

Westtoer is a public sectoral agency in West Flanders (Belgium), an expert in business development and has its own knowledge centre specialised in tourism and business indicators. Westtoer wants to develop a more sustainable tourism landscape at the Belgian Coast by working on a circular economy with tourism stakeholders and accelerating initiatives on circular tourism economy.

Blue Cluster is a network of innovative businesses, knowledge institutions and government bodies that focus on the development and promotion of sustainable economic activities at sea, such as blue tourism, but also coastal protection, renewable energy, sustainable seafood and ocean pollution. Blue Cluster furthermore stimulates knowledge sharing and strives to increase societal support for the Blue Economy.

Greenwich University (United Kingdom)

The University of Greenwich (UoG) is a leading modern public university and conducts research in different areas across its four faculties. As a knowledge partner, the University has an ambitious aim to accelerate knowledge transfer from research in the university to other organizations in the society. The Greenwich FACET team will work together with the entire project team and local entrepreneurs offering knowledge supports, solutions to barriers and challenges in the implementation of circular solutions. The above mutual learning and transfer of knowledge are the key objectives of and key benefits for the university and FACET team.

Norfolk County Council (United Kingdom)

Norfolk Country Council works in conjunction with Great Yarmouth Borough Council to connect the Interreg project FACET with the popular tourist resorts on the South Norfolk coast, East Anglia (UK). In Norfolk, the project will focus on tackling waste from fast food entrepreneurs. Their goal is to inspire residents, businesses, and tourists of coastal resorts in the area to make greener choices to recycle and reuse.

ADEME is the French executive agency for ecological transition and provides expertise,  advisory services and finance help for parties in its areas to establish and consolidate environmental action. In the FACET project ADEME focuses on supporting the development of a pilot project on the valorization of shall waste in the area of Baie de Somme and on the development of guidelines for touristic players of Hauts-de-France to decrease impact on the environment while maintaining an attractive and cooperative business model. .
