The power of simulation: from simulation to stimulation.
The tool makes it possible to simulate the travel behavior of visitors in a tourist region with a semi-rural character (as a basic scenario). A simulation is an imitation of reality. The great advantage of a simulation is that it takes place in a controlled, well-defined environment.
Resources needed
Investments | |
Yearly maintenance | |
Pilot costs | |
Costs permanent solution | The simulation tool is a software tool. Software is depending on updates and maintenance. |
Timeframe: solution acception, how long does this need to be adopted by the initiator? | |
Which resources are in the pilot and which are not | Relevant and reliable datasets of available resources, travel behavior patterns etc. |
Ideas about optimilisation for the future | By monitoring new innovative and sustainable mobility initiatives in the region of study, the simulation can be improved (by testing assumptions made before introducing new mobility concepts). |
