Summary of the project

The Green House, a circular restaurant where chefs prepare the most delicious food using ingredients from the restaurant’s own urban farm and the Utrecht region. Where you can pop in for a drink or grab a bite to eat throughout the day, in a welcoming, comfortable setting. A green hub, where you can meet and organise events. Where you will be inspired by stories and encounters, about how to do things differently and more sustainably. About a circular world where zero waste is a reality.

The pavilion at The Green House is fully circular and very sustainably built. The Green House will get a new purpose after 15 years. In keeping with its temporary nature, the entire pavilion is demountable. Recycled materials are also used as much as possible. For example, the glass cladding comes from the former adjacent Knoop Barracks. And as many products as possible are leased or supplied according to use and thus remain the property of the supplier, resulting in a fully circular business model.
